Merit cum Means scholarship for Minority the Punjab State Government provides the various scholarships for students who belong to backward communities. This Merit Cum Means Scholarship is issued for the students who belong to Minority communities like Muslim, Buddhist, Sikh, Christian and Parsi etc

Students who are pursuing technical or professional under Graduate or Post Graduate courses in recognized colleges will eligible to apply for this scholarship scheme. Online application forms are available for MCM scholarship scheme.

The main aim of this scholarship scheme is to give the financial help for backward community students who want to study higher education. So eligible and interesting candidate can apply this scholarship scheme through online

Eligibility for Merit cum Means Scholarship for Minority:

  • Applicant must be the permanent resident of Punjab state
  • Scholarship holder will not avail other scholarship schemes for studying courses
  • A student must not score less than 50% marks in the previous financial examination
  • Continuation of scholarship in subsequent years that depend on successful completion of the course of the preceding year
  • The annual income of family should not exceed Rs 2.5 lakh per annum
  • Income certificate should be self-certification basis of an affidavit on non-judicial stamp paper for the self-employed person

Rate of Scholarship:

The full course fee will re-imbrues for the national level institutions like IIMs, IITs etc

Maintenance allowance from the admission date (for 10 months): Rs 10000 per annum and Rs 1000 per month

For day-Scholar: Rs 5000 per annum and Rs 500 per month

The course fee is same for both scholarship and day-scholar as Rs 20,000 per annum

Merit cum Means scholarship for Minority

Total Rate of scholarship:

  • For hostellers: Rs 30,000 per annum
  • For Day-Scholar: Rs 25, 000 per annum

Steps to apply for Merit cum Means scholarship for Minority students in Punjab:

  • Eligible candidates can apply this scholarship scheme through the
  • If you are the new user then you need to register on scholarship portal
  • Then log in to the portal and continue the scholarship online form
  • Students will forward their application forms to online for institutions
  • After successful submission take the printout of form for further steps
  • Attach all the required documents to that application form printout and submit it to concerned institution/college
  • The student will receive the temporary ID which is used for any next correspondence etc
  • The institution will forward all these applications online by login into the same website for Welfare department

Note: Applicants received directly from students or incomplete applications will not be considered for scholarship scheme.
