List of Scholarship Schemes in Maharashtra State Government provides the different types of scholarship scheme for students who belong to backward communities. Indian Government launched this scholarship schemes for poor students who are economically backward sections

Every state Government handles all scholarship schemes facilities that launched by Indian Government. Now Maharashtra state Government issues Pre-Matric and Post Matric scholarship schemes for students. So many students stop their education due to some financial problems

To overcome this problem Indian Government introduces this scholarship scheme for students in every state. Maharashtra State Government issues 12 Pre-Matric and 31 Post-Matric scholarship schemes for Maharashtra residents

List of Scholarship Schemes for Minority communities:

This scheme is for the poor as well as minority communities like Muslim, Christian, Parsi, Jain, Buddhist etc. And this scholarship for Diploma, undergraduate and Post Graduate. 30% reservation for female applicants

Eligibility :

  • Scholarship for higher education students like undergraduate, postgraduate
  • Applicant should pass SSC under Maharashtra state
  • Candidate should not benefit under any other scholarship scheme
  • Annual income of parents should not exceed Rs 6 lakh
  • A student will receive Rs 25000 or actual course fees as scholarship

Open Merit scholarship:

The main aim of this scheme is to encourage the students for their higher education


  • Scholarship provided for 11th and 12th standard students
  • Applicant must receive 60% marks in SSC examination
  • To continue the scholarship student secure at least 45% marks at the First year
  • Applicants must receive Rs 50 as the scholarship for 10 months

Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj Merit scholarship:

This scholarship scheme is for the SC students who secured 75%and above 75% marks in SSC exam


  • This scholarship is applicable for 11th and 12 standard students
  • Applicant must belong to SC caste
  • Student must secure 75% or more in 10th standard
  • Family annual income not more than Rs 2.5 lakh per annum
  • Aadhar seeding to bank account provides the centralized banking system facility
  • Candidates will get 50% tuition fees as scholarship

Economically backward class:

This scholarship is for the school students who are economically poor. Students from 10th to 12th standard to complete their education provide this scholarship.


  • Students who belong to economically backward class
  • And applicants must pass SSC examination in one attempt also scored 50% marks in the previous exam
  • Family annual income up to Rs 30 000
  • Students will get the scholarship for 10 months as mentioned below:
  • For Hostelers: Boys Rs 140 and Girls Rs 160
  • For Non-Hosteller: Boys: Rs 80 and Girls Rs 100

Foreign education scholarship:

This scholarship scheme is for SC students who want to study higher education in abroad countries Government has launched this scheme


  • Applicant must belong to SC caste
  • Family annual income should less than Rs 6 lakh per year
  • Age limit for students 35 years for PG course and 40 for PhD
  • Tuition fee will pay to university directly

Savitri Bai Phule Scholarship:

This scholarship scheme is for Scheduled caste girl students who studying 5th to 10th standards


  • Applicants must belong to Schedule caste, VJNT or SBC category
  • Only girl students can apply this scheme
  • There is no income level restriction
  • Students will receive the scholarship for 10 months
  • For 5th to 7th class: Rs 60 per month
  • For 8th to 10th class: Rs 100 per month

Maharashtra State government provides the so many different scholarships for students. It also provides the online services to avail these scholarships schemes through online.
