What is DCE Scholarship Scheme 2018 in Kerala

DCE Scholarship Scheme DCE stands for Department of College Education that provide by Kerala Government. DCE scholarship scheme of Kerala offers various scholarship schemes for students to promote higher studies in the state. Students who belong to minority communities like Muslim, Buddhists, Christian, Zoroastrians, Parsis, and Sikh can apply for these DCE scholarships

Students need to apply this scholarship schemes through online mode. Here are the list and details scholarship schemes which present under DCE scholarship scheme in Kerala

Types of Scholarships Under DCE Scholarship Scheme:

DCE Scholarship Scheme

Merit Scholarship to children of school Teachers (MSCT):

This scholarship benefits for students who pursuing graduation in Government aided Universities/colleges


  • Student for first-year HSC/VHSC under graduation course in Government aided arts or Science College
  • Daughter/Son of primary or secondary school teachers
  • Applicants will receive scholarship money for plus one: Rs 50 per month and undergraduate: Rs 50 per month

Central Sector Scholarship (CSS):

This CSS is for undergraduate degree students in any recognized educational institutions


  • For undergraduate students degree
  • Income of Parental (both father and mother) should not exceed Rs 6 lakh per annum
  • Under graduation students will receive Rs 1000 per month and Post graduation students receive Rs 2000 per month

State Merit Scholarship (SMS):

This scholarship scheme is for both under graduation and post graduation students


  • Applicant should be 1st year of Graduation/post graduation courses in Government colleges/University
  • Family annual income should not exceed Rs 1 lakh per annum
  • Candidate should have scored 50% or above in qualifying exam
  • Graduation people receive Rs 1250 per annum and post-graduation students receive Rs 1500 per annum as scholarship

Post Matric Scholarship (PMS):

This scholarship benefited the students from plus one to Ph.D. education


  • Applicants must be the first year of plus two, PG, UG, PhD
  • Family income should not exceed more than Rs 2 lakh per annum
  • Applicant should not avail any other scholarships
  • Candidate have secure not less than 50% marks in Board exam or University examination

District Merit Scholarship (DMS):

DMS is for the students who want to study higher education like Secondary, ITI, Polytechnical, VHSC courses


  • Applicant must get plus grade in all subjects in SSLC examination by Kerala board of public exams
  • Studying for Higher secondary, ITI, VHSC, Polytechnic courses
  • Applicants receive as Rs 1250 per annum

Muslim Nadar Girls Scholarship (MNS):

MNS Scholarship is for the under graduation course students


  • Applicant should be first-year girls of HSC/VHSC under graduation course in government aided arts and science college
  • Candidate should belong to BPL family and backward community
  • A rate of scholarship for students receive Rs 125 per annum

Sanskrit scholarship (SSE):

This scholarship is provided for both graduation and post-graduation students. For undergraduate 55 and Postgraduate, 25 numbers of scholarships are allowed


  • This is for undergraduate and postgraduate students
  • Sanskrit is also one of the subjects in present studying courses
  • Undergraduate receive Rs 200 per month and Postgraduate receive Rs 200 per month

Hindi Scholarship (HS):

This scholarship for the graduation and post-graduation students


  • Hindi is also one of the subjects in present studying course
  • Under graduation students receive Rs 500 per month and Post graduation student receive Rs 1000 per month

Blind/PH scholarship (BPHFC):

This scholarship scheme for the blind and physically handicapped students who studying in Government schools


  • Blind, Deaf, PH students studying in Government, Aided arts and science colleges, Higher education, music colleges, Vocational higher secondary schools
  • Fee charges for blind students with family annual income are below 2.5 lakh
  • Boarding charges for day scholars and Hostel charges for hosteller students and whose family annual income below Rs 4.5 lakh

Music Fine arts scholarship (MFAS):

Students who are studying in Government music colleges and Government fine arts colleges

CH Muhammed Koya Scholarship (MGS):

MGS is for the undergraduate and postgraduate course students. This scholarship provides 3000 scholarships for Under Graduates, 1000 scholarships for postgraduates and Professional courses and 2000 scholarships for Hostel Stipend students


  • Applicant studying the 1st year of graduation or higher courses in the recognized institution
  • Students must score 50% or above in the previous examination
  • Family annual income not more than Rs 4.5 lakh per annum
  • Applicants receive the scholarship for undergraduates Rs 5000 per annum, post Graduates Rs 6000 per annum, Professional courses Rs 7000 per annum and Hostel Stipend Rs 13000 per annum
